This is not a real post. Which is odd cuz here it is.
Anyways, what this is here for is to list out a few resources that can help people get an idea of what sort of boats are available.
Let me first say that this is not a FULL list since that’d be too difficult to compile… Which is why Google exists (not being snarky but there ya go).
So many people want to get a boat. Awesome. But they’re expensive right? I mean a standard Beneteau 38 right out of the box is around $140,000CND. Egad right?
Well what about used then? Well then behold the magic known as repossession.
The sad truth about boating is that a lot of people get into it, don’t do anything with it, then sell their boats after a few years on the hard. Think of it like those guys that get a Ferrari as “their” car for the household. But they don’t drive it to work because it could get hurt while parked in the general parking lot, you can’t go shopping in it, picking up the kids while cool is impossible, so you drive the minivan instead, and the Ferrari sits.
With boats it can be like that but there’s a twist. With a boat you need to store it somewhere… And that somewhere costs money. So eventually people lapse on payments and the bank, or the marina take possession. Well they sure as heck don’t want it. So they sell it. Sometimes for truly astounding prices!
Not all of these are repo’s but you can find some pretty interesting deals these links.
One note of caution. A bonus of buying a new ship is that you don’t inherit previous owners… creative interpretation on boat maintenance. So keep that in mind.
I’ve got more to say on this subject (of course) but I’ll save that for other posts. Cheers all!

I didn’t know there were so many options to get inexpensive boats. My husband has wanted a boat for years. We recently bought a home by the bay, and he has more of an itch to get one than ever before. Thanks for the tips on how to find great deals on boats.

Hey anytime. That is partially why I’ve started this blog just to write down and get online resources like this. 🙂
